ACTIVITIES
  • The Forum (PPF) organizes lectures on relevant topics by experienced persons at regular intervals in different undergraduate and postgraduate colleges and research institutions.
  • It has the distinction of having organized for the first time (in 1984) a month-long training cum workshop for the undergraduate college teachers to help them better understanding modern theories and methodologies of plant science research. As follow up action similar refresher courses are organized at different places.
  • All India symposia on relevant topics are organized periodically, often in collaboration with other societies and organizations.
  • An annual conference, named after the late Prof. S.M. Sircar, one of the most renowned plant scientists of our time, is organized by the Forum at places away from the busy cities, where scientists can present their thoughts and findings in relaxed environment under informal surroundings. This conference gives a unique opportunity to the younger members to closely interact with more experienced persons.
  • Forum has the distinction of publishing a book on Biofertilizers: Potentialities and Problems as an out come of one such national symposium. Similar books in different topics are under preparation.
  • The Forum also publishes a biannual newsletter, which it contemplates to raise as a full-fledged journal shortly.
